Derek O’Brien started out his musical career as the original drummer for Social Distortion. Trained is Jazz, Classical and always a music connoisseur / chameleon, he went on to tour and recorded with many different artists over the years. In 2000 Derek brought his experience as a seasoned drummer/songwriter/producer along with an Audio Engineering degree from UCLA to found D.O’B. Sound Recording Studios. An instant success cranking out album after album, D.O’B. Sound provided a comfortable, clean & relaxed (musician friendly) environment for Music Production, Recording, Mixing & Mastering.

Then in 2008, Derek teamed up with Larry Ramirez (producer/songwriter/guitarist for “Second Chance” and founder of Loaded Bomb Records) to take over the historical “True One and Basement Studios” facility located in Santa Fe Springs, CA (equidistant to Hollywood, Orange County and Long Beach). Achieving their goals of adding great sounding rehearsal rooms, doing custom guitar work / repair, and teaching audio engineering, a new dimension and sense of community was born.
